This unique and well-made bracelet by London-based designer Lowndes is from the Almack collection. The collection is inspired by the Countess of Jersey, and her affinity for the exclusive Almack club in London. One of the first women in the early 1800s to break the restraints of society, the Countess was known as a social butterfly who enjoyed dancing. Bringing this theme through the collection, the shapes of the bracelet’s stations are informed by butterfly wings. They are pave-set with approximately 2.78cttw of sapphires in gradating autumnal hues and separated by chain link.
The solid 18k rose gold bracelet measures 7.5″ long x .5″ wide, and is finished with a unique push button clasp. The back of the bracelet displays engravings of the Countess herself, dancing with a gentleman. The image is based on an original print that hangs in the Almack Club. The bracelet is marked AU750, Lowndes, and with the company’s logo. It weighs 31.93 grams and is in very good preowned condition with some wear to the back of the bracelet. Please see photos for details. MSRP was $5435.
